Belinda Shapps is a British politician who has served as the Conservative MP for Welwyn Hatfield since 2005. She is the wife of Grant Shapps, the Secretary of State for Transport.

Early life and career

Belinda Shapps was born in London in 1968. She studied politics and economics at the University of Kent and worked as a management consultant before entering politics.

Shapps was elected as the Conservative MP for Welwyn Hatfield in 2005. She has served in a number of ministerial roles, including Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Planning.

Personal life

Belinda Shapps is married to Grant Shapps, the Secretary of State for Transport. They have two children.
